SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A Camillus woman told a crowd of about 450 people at a public forum on drugs Wednesday night her life "was shattered into a million pieces" when her 24-year-old daughter died of a heroin overdose Nov. 7. Deanna Axe said her daughter, Morgan Brittany Axe, did not have to drive to a "shady drug house" on Syracuse's West Side to buy the bag of heroin that killed her. Instead, a dealer delivered it their house in Fairmount. "Syracuse and its suburbs have become a heroin playground," Axe said.
